Baby care market value in Great Britain 2010-2017 In Great Britain, the market for baby care products swayed between nearly 15 to 19.5 million British pounds since 2010. In 2017, the baby care market was worth 17.8 million British pounds, noticeably higher than the year prior, but still behind what it had been in 2010. In this market segment, baby nappies had the highest proportion of sales value in 2015, followed by baby milk and drinks.  
UK’s favourite is a global force

  Baby care products range from baby formulas, milk and drinks to hair and skin care products and disposable items such as wipes and diapers. In 2017, the most popular baby care brand among UK consumers was Johnson & Johnson. The American multinational retailer was followed by the UK’s own Boots, Asda and Tesco, all of which sell own-brand baby and child products.  

Declining birth rate

  The sways in the value of the baby care market is very much reflected in UK birth rates. In 2017, the birth rate in the UK was the lowest of the past 15 years. The highest it had been was in 2012, when 12.9 births occured per 1,000 population. That year, the baby care market in Great Britain did not go unaffected by this rise in births, having reached its peak at 19.5 million British pounds.
