Carbon dioxide emissions from energy consumption at conventional power and combined heat and power (CHP) plants in the United States presented a trend of decline. Between 2004 and 2019, figures decreased by 762.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, reaching the record low in 2019, at about 1.72 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide.
