Retail trade sales monthly index in Italy 2017-2023

In December 2023, the index of retail trade sales in Italy stood at 140.3 points. Between 2017 and 2023, the lowest figures were recorded in March and April 2020. 

According to a forecast from July 2020, the Italian GDP was expected to drop by 11.2 percent in 2020. Different estimates on the GDP growth have been published since the outbreak of coronavirus, considering different scenarios.
