Number of theatrical movie releases in Norway 2010-2022
In 2022, 216 new cinema movies have been released in Norway, up from 196 movies in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the number was relative low compared to the past years. By contrast, in 2019, the amount of new film releases in Norwegian movie theaters was over 250. The pandemic has likewise had its impact on the origin of released movies, as the share of Norwegian productions has reached a peak compared to previous years.
