This statistic shows the distribution of per capita food waste in Norway in 2011 and 2015. In 2011, the most commonly wasted food types in Norway consisted of fruit and vegetables as well as of dinner leftovers. Also in 2015, those food categories had high shares of the total food disposal per inhabitant. Roughly 30 percent of the food wasted per capita was everyday or dinner leftovers, ahead of fruit and vegetables with a share of approximately 27 percent. In 2015, 13 percent of all food thrown away by Norwegians was bread.
