This statistic depicts the results of a survey on the main reasons for buying food products directly from local producers and/or farmers in Italy as of September 2017. According to the survey results, for 71 percent of the interviewed people the high quality of the food represented the leading reason. For further 43 percent of respondents the main motivation was the higher level of safety and inspection checks in comparison to the products found in supermarkets.
