The activities of the Otto Group are concentrated on such corporate sectors as multichannel retail, services and financial services. The business core of the enterprise is the multichannel retail sector, comprising the following distribution channels: e-commerce, catalog and over-the-counter retail. This sector generated a revenue of over 10.54 billion euros in the fiscal year 2017/2018. As for the e-commerce sector, 2016 saw five billion euros worth of revenue generated in Germany alone and seven billion euros achieved worldwide. The multichannel sector had the highest number of employees, at over 24 thousand people.
The best-known Otto subsidiary companies are fashion provider Bonprix, the online toyshop myToys and the sports retailer SportScheck. Bonprix generated a revenue of over 1.6 billion euros in 2018/2019. Most recently MyToys achieved 652 milliion euros, while SportsScheck followed with 286 million euros. According to a Statista survey conducted in April 2017 among respondents aged 18 years and older, 31 percent of them frequently shopped on Bonprix.de, while 23 percent had done so once.
