With concerts having been canceled or put on pause through the Covid-19 pandemic, they are now back in full swing and performers are making a splash with global tours. Beyoncé has made international headlines in past weeks for her sell out Renaissance World Tour, which has been so successful that it’s even impacted the local economies of the places she’s been playing in - partly driven by American fans who made the journey to see her perform in Europe, rather than coughing up more money for the high-priced tickets back home.
The following chart looks at how popular live music events are among adults in different countries. Data from Statista’s Global Consumer Insights survey shows that of the selected countries, Spain had the highest share of respondents saying they had bought a concert ticket in the past 12 months (26 percent). This was far less commonplace in Switzerland, where only five percent of respondents said they had booked a ticket to a music event, concert or festival.
