Sandra Torres - representing the National Unity of Hope Party (UNE) - was the most voted candidate, having obtained over 25.5 percent of valid votes cast. Alejandro Giammattei came in second with almost 14 percent. A runoff election is scheduled for August 11th, 2019 to elect the next Guatemalan president from these two candidates.
