According to data provided by EV-Volumes, some 62,000 battery and plug-in electric vehicles were sold in the United Kingdom in 2018. Many of such vehicles were fitted with a nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) battery, with those delivered in 2018 having a combined capacity of over 900 megawatt hours.
