Although the Conservative party only increased their share of the vote since 2017 by 1.2 percent in the United Kingdom's 2019 general election, the party managed to gain an extra 47 seats in the House of Commons. The Labour Party, by contrast, saw a 7.8 percent swing against them translate into a loss of 59 seats, their worst election results since 1935.
