Most popular consumer electronics brands in Great Britain 2024
As of the third quarter of 2024, a survey asking British public’s opinion on consumer electronic brands gave the highest rating to Samsung, Philips, and Duracell. Over 70 percent of Great Britain population had a positive opinion of the three brands. The popular consumer electronics brand Apple had surprisingly lower approval ratings amongst those surveyed, with only 62 percent of respondents having a positive opinion of this brands.
Simplicity as the key to popularity?
According to a survey conducted in 2015, there seems to be a correlation between consumer electronic brand popularity and simplicity. Similarly to the results demonstrated above, out of ten consumer electronics brands surveyed, respondents in the UK regarded Samsung as being the most simplistic followed closely by Sony. Also similar to the results demonstrated above, UK respondents ranked Apple as the ninth most simplistic electronics brand. These findings demonstrate that a UK consumer’s positive opinion of a consumer electronic brand could have something to do it with its simplicity and overall user-friendliness. Age does not seem to be a factor in a consumer electronics brand’s popularity, as millennials also rated Sony as their most favored brand.
Consumer electronics revenue growth in the UK
From 2020 to 2022, consumer electronics revenue growth is expected to decline incrementally within the UK market. In 2022, the expected growth rate is projected at 4.2 percent whereas the growth rate in 2017 stood at 8.3 percent. It should be noted that these figures were released prior to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic and it is unclear how this event could affect growth projections.
