Annual number of transactions with A2A scheme Swish in Sweden 2013-2023
Swish transactions increased by a percentage between 2022 and 2021 that was slightly higher than in the previous year. The Swedish mobile payment app was launched in 2012; the following year around three million payments were made using the app. In 2018, the number of payments had grown to 394 million, and a transaction value of around 20.5 thousand Swedish kroner per person.

The most common payment method in Sweden in 2018 was card payments. Almost 60 percent of payments in Sweden that year were made by card. Swish payments accounted for six percent of the total payments, which was the same amount as the share of cash payments that year.
Customers of Swish
Private customers are the largest customer group of Swish. The app had around 7.6 million private customers as of July 2020. Business customers, which was the second largest group, amounted to around 241 thousand. The app had around nine thousand trade customers.
