YouTube was used by 87.8 percent of people in Japan in fiscal year 2023. The penetration rate slightly increased compared to the previous year. A breakdown by age group shows that the online video platform was used by a vast majority of people between the ages of 13 and 69.

The Japanese fiscal year starts on April 1 of the stated year and ends on March 31 of the following year. Figures for previous years are based on earlier surveys, each with a sample size of 1,500 respondents.
