For 2023's holiday shopping season, approximately half of consumers in Canada said they would buy items on sale as a cost-cutting measure if needed. Nearly the same number of Canadians said they would plan to purchase fewer gifts in order to avoid financial trouble. That said, only one percent of respondents said they would not buy any holiday gifts for this reason.
