Too high delivery costs are the main reason global shoppers abandon their cart when shopping on websites abroad, according to a 2022 survey. Half of respondents chose this reason for cross-border cart abandonment, while another 42 percent said delivery time was too long.
Leading reasons for cart abandonment when shopping online internationally in 2022
* Buyers who have shopped online in the past year and bought from a brand or retailer based outside of their country. Approximately 1,000 respondents per the following markets: U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, France, China, Japan, UAE, and Australia.
To answer the question posed on the survey, respondents could choose up to three reasons. This statistic only shows the five most chosen reasons.
