UK Survey: Political party identification in Great Britain 2012, by age

This statistic shows the percentage of people who identified with a political party in Great Britain (GB) in 2012, by age. 61 percent of 18 to 24 year olds identified with a party. This was, however, the lowest age group total. Political identification increased up to 71 percent for the 35 to 44 year olds. Despite a dip for 45 to 54 year olds, the figure rises to 83 percent for the oldest age group of 65+. It is not clear from this statistic whether political identification rises with age or if it is a generational factor creating the difference.
