Haiti: number of homicides 2007-2016

In 2016, 1,028 people died as a result of intentional homicide in Haiti. A year earlier, the number of victims had reached 1,071, the highest number at least since 2007. The Caribbean country continues to suffer from crime and violence. The number of murders registered in 2016 has doubled in comparison to 2007, year which showed the lowest quantity of homicide victims in the indicated time period, amounting to 486.
