Finland: production value of the information and communication sector 2019

The production value of the information and communication industry in Finland increased by 470.4 million euros since the previous year. While the growth in the industry is slowing down, with 22.2 billion euros, the production value is at its peak in the observed period. The recent development could be explained by the fact that Eurostat reports a break in time series for 2017. Notably, the production value in this industry has been, with the exception of 2013, continuously increasing over the last years.

The source adds the following information: Production value measures the amount actually produced by the unit, based on sales, including changes in stocks and the resale of goods and services. The production value is defined as turnover, plus or minus the changes in stocks of finished products, work in progress and goods and services purchased for resale, minus the purchases of goods and services for resale, plus capitalised production, plus other operating income (excluding subsidies). Income and expenditure classified as financial or extra-ordinary in company accounts is excluded from production value.
Data coverage corresponds to code J of NACE Rev 2.
