Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf (not to be confused with Peek & Cloppenburg Hamburg), or P&C among the population in both cities, is one of Germany’s best-known clothing retailers. Revenues have been decreasing in recent years.

Dressed for success

The clothing company has its roots in Dusseldorf, where the headquarters are still located, and looks back on a long history that started in the beginning of the twentieth century. The Hamburg branch was founded a decade later. In rankings of the most popular clothing and textile retailers based on purchases completed in the last six months, Peek & Cloppenburg ranked third after C&A and H&M. The same was true in terms of customer numbers.

Set up shop

Based on forecasts, retail clothes shopping is predicted to enjoy stable developments in the 2020s, with revenues gradually increasing. It remains to be seen how the expansion of online clothing retail will influence business in brick-and-mortar stores.
