Forecast of the population with a non-Western background the Netherlands 2015-2060 This statistic shows a forecast of the population with a non-Western background in the Netherlands from 2015 to 2060, by origin (in thousands). It reveals that the population of Indonesian origin is expected to decline relatively rapidly, from 369,000 in 2015 to 172,000 in 2060. The population of Netherlands Antilles' origin on the other hand is expected to increase relatively rapidly, from 149,000 in 2015 to 246,000 in 2060. Furthermore, the population of Moroccan, Surinamese and Turkish origin are expected to increase first, and decline at a later point. For the Turkish population this tipping point lies in 2050, when the Turkish population is for the first time predicted to decrease. For the populations of Moroccan and Surinamese descent this tipping point is reached in 2055 (Moroccan) and 2040 (Surinamese) respectively.
