Prison population in Italy H1 2020, by marital status

In June 2020, unmarried prisoners made up the largest group of prison population broken down by marital status. According to data, they amounted to 18 thousand individuals. Moreover, married prisoners added up to 15 thousands, the second largest value displayed in the chart. On the contrary, widowed people in custody were 526, the lowest amount among the different groups.
Furthermore, data related to the age of prisoners show that individuals aged between 50 and 59 years made up the largest group of incarcerated population in Italy.
