Vita Coco: coconut water dollar sales in the United States from 2016 to 2020

In 2020, Vita Coco's U.S. coconut water sales amounted to about 160 million U.S. dollars, a considerable decrease compared to the previous few years. Vita Coco is responsible for a number of plant-based beverage brands, such as Vita Coco Coconut Water Pineapple and Vita Coco Sparkling Grapefruit.

Plant-based beverage market

In 2018, the value of the plant-based beverage market worldwide stood at an estimated 11 billion U.S. dollars. By 2023, however, this number is projected to grow to almost 20 billion U.S. dollars. Plant-based beverages were mostly popular in the Asian Pacific region in 2018. While the value of the beverage type is forecast to grow in all regions, it is expected to increase the most in that region specifically.

In 2019, the value of the plant-based food and beverage market had reached approximately 14 billion U.S. dollars in both North America and Asia-Pacific. The value of the European plant-based market was roughly half that amount.
