It can be seen that Germany had the largest gold holdings in Europe at that time, with total gold holdings of almost 3.4 thousand tonnes as of the end of 2019.This was over nine hundred tonnes more than the second placed country. Italy and France completed the top three with recorded gold holdings of 2,451.8 tonnes and 2,436 tonnes respectively.
