
Overweight prevalence among adults in Brazil 2023, by age
When asked about their weight and height to estimate their body mass index (BMI), a study found that around 37.4 percent of Brazilian adults between 18 and 24 years were overweight (BMI≥25kg/m2) in 2023, a share below the national average. However, overweight was more prevalent among those aged 45 to 54 years in Brazil, with an overweight prevalence of more than 70 percent during that year.
