Children's sports participation in England 2018, by gender and age
This statistic presents the share of children participating in any sport in the last 4 weeks in England in 2017/18, by gender and age, as of annual surveys conducted in 2017/18. During the observation period, approximately 87 percent of boys between the age of five and ten participated actively in any sport for minimum of 30 minutes in the four weeks prior to the survey. In comparison, approximately 79 percent of girls in the same age group participated in sport.
