Excluding tacos, Tamales were the preferred local dish in Mexico in 2021, according to a survey. In that year, 96 percent of local respondents said to like tamales. A tamale is a corn dough filled with meat and other ingredients wrapped in a platain leaf or a corn husk. When asked about tacos, the preferred type among Mexican survey participants in that year were those made with roast meat.
