According to a survey conducted by Ipsos in May 2019, 39 percent of Indian respondents felt that the country should never break international laws on human rights while deciding what to do. At the same time, 25 percent of the respondents felt that the international law should be taken into account no more than other considerations.
Out of all the countries surveyed in the study, the support for never breaking human rights laws was highest in Poland, Hungary and Spain. While India, Belgium and Malaysia ranked highest on their response to ignore human rights laws in decision making.
