According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the state of happiness in India, 47 percent of respondents stated that the state of India's economy does or could bring them some happiness. However, 20 percent of the respondents stated that the country's economy does not bring them any happiness.

According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens. As such, the results should be viewed as reflecting the views of a more 'connected population'.
