As a consequence of the coronavirus outbreak and the following implemented measures by the Norwegian government, the number of TV viewers, especially for news broadcasts, increased. The Sunday broadcast Søndagsrevyen on NRK1 had the highest numbers of viewers on the weekend from March 14 to 15, 2020, with over one million, while the Sunday broadcast of 21-nyheter on TV had over 500 thousand viewers.
