Women who had an abortion in Peru by region

According to a survey conducted in October 2018, the percentage of women who had undergone an abortion at least once in their life was higher in the eastern region of Peru, also known as Orient. When asked if they had ever had an abortion, more than one quarter of the women surveyed in eastern Peru (26 percent) answered affirmatively. The share of women who admitted having had an abortion in Peru was also higher among older age groups.
