After the Supreme Court's decision to strike down the federal ban on sports betting in the United States in May 2018, various states have legalized, or introduced legislation to legalize, the sports betting industry. In 2023, the sports betting industry in the U.S. generated a revenue of 11.04 billion U.S. dollars, denoting an increase of around 46 percent over the previous year.
