Share of foreign university students in Russia 2021/2022, by country
By far the largest share of international university students studying in Russia in the school year 2021/2022 came from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, at approximately 18 percent and 17.3 percent of the international student body, respectively. Chinese students accounted for over 11 percent of all foreign bachelor's, specialist's, and master's students in Russia.
