According to a survey conducted in Japan in March 2022, over 29 percent of respondents looked at the health functions advertised on labels of foods for specified health uses (FOSHU) when purchasing.
FOSHU refers to a type of health foods that are labeled with scientifically recognized health-promoting effects. Products require the government's approval to display the FOSHU label on the packaging.
