Production value of fish in Kenya 2016-2022
The production value of fish in Kenya grew to 31.1 billion Kenyan shillings (around 221.1 million U.S. dollars) in 2022. This was the highest amount registered in recent years. According to the source, the rise was credited to the persistent and sustainable utilization of fishery resources, achieved by implementing more rigorous regulations on fishing techniques during breeding periods. Comparatively, the volume of fish landed in the country kept stable in 2021, compared to the previous year.
