According to a survey conducted in March 2022, 60 percent of voters in the United States who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 strongly supported social media companies banning Russian state-controlled media content on their platforms. Overall, 41 percent of respondents who voted for Donald Trump strongly supported social media companies banning such content. Of respondents who didn't vote in the 2020 election, the majority said that they didn't know, or had no opinion on this subject matter.
