In 2021, the number of aircraft departures performed by U.S. carriers amounted to approximately 7.9 million, an increase of around 29.1 percent compared to the previous year's take-offs. The aircraft departures from U.S. carriers oscillated around 10 million before the COVID-19 pandemic.
