About This Statistic
This statistic displays the market share, or the share of internet users in Europe who used different browsers to access the web from January 2015 to January 2017. The data was collected on more than 17 billion page views per month worldwide and includes desktop, tablets and console based browsing. As of January 2017, Chrome had a 50.25 percent share of the European web browser market, followed by Firefox with 18.51 percent of people who browse using this browser. Google Chrome has been increasing on the market slightly in most recent years. Internet Explorer and Safari have also had a noticeable market share of 8.74 percent and 12.29 percent respectively. The web browser market shares in France, Italy and Germany also showed a similar picture even though in Germany Google Chrome only held 35.71 percent of the browser market.
