
Population by age in France 2006-2022
Since 2006, France has seen an increase in the population aged 65 and over, while over the same period, the French population aged 59 and under has stagnated or even decreased for the 20-59 age group. While approximately 10 million French people were over 65 in 2006, there were 13.94 million in 2022, i.e. slightly more than one million fewer French people than those aged 0-19.
