This statistic shows the per capita consumption of roasted coffee in Sweden from 2006 to 2016. In 2016, the consumption volume of roasted coffee in Sweden amounted to 8.1 kilograms per capita. Over the past ten years, coffee consumption remained stable, but showed a peak of 8.8 kilograms per person in 2010. In the following year, the consumption volume of roasted coffee dropped down to 7.3 kilograms per person. The total annual volume of roasted coffee consumed in Sweden is on average 80 thousand metric tons.
Even though roasted coffee consumption did not record a growth in recent years, the turnover, generated with coffee sale in Swedish retail trade increased constantly.
Warm drinks enjoy great popularity in Sweden. Thus, coffee is a well established product in the Swedish culture. The Nordic country is also among the world's leading coffee consuming countries.
