Players with most sixes in IPL 2024
As of September 2024, Chris Gayle of Punjab Kings was the leading six hitter in the Indian Premier League with 357 sixes during the tournament. A six or a sixer is when the ball passes or touches the boundary of the playing field without having rolled or bounced before. The IPL is a professional Twenty20 cricket league conducted annually and followed religiously in the country with franchises representing the Indian states and cities. The tournament’s popularity is second to none, with the highest attendance amongst all cricket leagues in the world and sixth by average attendance among all sports leagues. Season ten of the heavily advertised campaign recorded over 500 million impressions in 2017.
The Gayle Storm
Popularly known as the ‘Universe Boss’, Chris Gayle remains a prominent and vital figure for any team he represents across any format, but he is expected to be at his best in the shortest format of cricket. Formerly a Royal Chargers Bangalore player, Gayle made a move to Kings XI Punjab, and supposedly brought the Gayle storm with him by hitting the maximum number of sixes in that year’s campaign.
