Hot rolled steel products global production 2007-2022
In 2022, over 239.7 million metric tons of hot rolled steel coils, sheets, and strips were produced globally. This represents a decrease of 10 percent in production volume compared to the previous year. Over the period given, this figure reached a peak of approximately 412 million metric tons in 2019, before beginning to decline due to the coronavirus epidemic.
