Get in touch with us nowOver the past seven-year period, the British cosmetics company Lush has enjoyed a generally upward trend in its annual turnover figures. In 2017, this reached a peak point when the brand generated about 995 million British pounds. The following three years, however, saw a drop in annual turnover: in fact, the company experienced a swing from profit to loss, at least until fiscal year 2023.
Lush stands out in the cosmetics market with its ethical and fair-trade buying principles, although the company does not necessarily brand itself “ethical”. In over 850 brand shops belonging to Lush, the cosmetic retailer sells handmade cosmetics that range from soaps, fragrances, facial skincare and bath products.
With consumer consciousness about organic and sustainable consumption growing, organic cosmetics have also expanded quite significantly within the past decade. In 2022, the sales value of organic health and beauty products skyrocketed to 148 million British pounds. This value was only 27.7 million British pounds in 2010.
