This statistic shows the share of residential properties sold to iBuyers in the United States from 2016 to 2018. iBuyers are companies which buy directly from homeowners via all-cash offers and usually closes within days, as opposed to traditional sales which take six to eight weeks, on average, to close. As of November 2018, 9.6 percent of U.S. homes sold by two leading iBuyers, Opendoor and Offerpad, were bought by institutional investors.
