La Rioja in Spain, with its beautiful mountain landscapes and world-famous wines has topped Booking.com’s most welcoming regions list for 2023. European destinations dominated this year’s top five with the likes of Epirus in Greece and Mures in Romania coming in at second and fifth places. Beyond Europe, the eleventh annual Booking.com Traveller Review Awards also named another wine growing region, Marlborough in New Zealand, and the UNESCO protected Ninh Binh in Vietnam among the top 10.
