When asked about what policy options would be somewhat effective for tackling issues relating to carbon emissions and air quality in the tourism sector, an Economist Impact survey found that 87% of policymaker respondents believed that promoting public transport and alternative mobility options would be most effective. Offering incentives for local renewable energy generation was an almost equally popular choice follwed by the establishment of protected areas and national parks.
