Worldwide, hotels are the most popular form of accommodation, but a breakdown of overnight stay preferences from the 2025 Travel Trends survey by generation shows some variation across generations. Baby Boomers are more likely to stay in a hotel or with family than other generations, and Millennials appear to be slightly more likely to opt for luxury at an all-inclusive hotel or resort.
