Retail sales value of household appliances in China 2019-2022, by sales channel

In 2022, the online retail sales value of household appliances amounted to around 486 billion yuan in China, increasing by around four percent compared to a year prior. Although the shift from offline to online purchasing of household devices has been going on for years, the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated this process and finally tilted the scales in favor of online retail. The main beneficiaries are large electronics online retailers such as JD.com, suning.com, or T-mall.
