According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in February 2024, around 32 percent of 16 to 24-year-old respondents in Hong Kong who knew what plant-based food products were said they consumed plant-based food alternatives to animal-based food several times a month. Meanwhile, around 23 percent of respondents above 54 years confirmed the same.

Among a total of 2,910 survey respondents, 2,745 respondents said they knew what plant-based alternative food products were. Only those were asked about their consumption frequency.
