According to a forecast released in March 2020, it was estimated that Italy's GDP will decrease due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19). Specifically, it is forecasted that the Italian GDP would drop by three percent by the end of the first quarter of 2020. In the second quarter, this figure could decrease by five percent.
Moreover, it is projected that the sectors of textile, train and air transport, hotels, restaurants, shows, and sporting events will record the largest drop.
